Update (August 2026)
I was in the area, so I decided to do a mini food tour of my favorite eats in Flushing, NY, and Lucia Pizza happens to be my all-time favorite. During the tour, the first spot I hit up was actually Amore Pizza, which happens to be a very close rival to Lucia. I figured I would try both to finally put to rest which pizza joint truly is my favorite.

Both Lucia and Amore pizza are known for their signature orange cheese—or as I like to call it, liquid gold. They are served on wax paper on top of a paper plate, always hot and fresh since they have a consistent flow of customers, especially during lunchtime.
As mentioned before, parking can be a pain, but there is municipal parking nearby. It is a little pricey, but it definitely beats trying to find street parking, which is almost impossible.

Once I entered the place, it had the exact same look and feel as it always has, and I was lucky that a fresh pie was just about to come out of the oven.

I got a plain slice, added some Parmesan, and on the first bite, it was delicious. It was piping hot, but that is just the way I like it. The cheese was nice and orangey. I folded the pizza, and it held up even with all that cheesy, saucy goodness on top. The only thing missing was the fruit punch drink, which they did not have available, nor did they have the grape drink, so I just settled for a Coke.

Amore and Lucia are very close in flavor, but I still give the edge to Lucia. It is probably a bit unfair for me to judge since I pretty much grew up eating there, but it holds a special place.

I could be bias slightly since I have been coming here for over 15 years. Lucia Pizza is usually busy but gets very busy during lunch and dinner time. Once you enter the place, you place your order at the counter. Spacing is limited and you can eat at the counter or eat sitting down on the stool seats on the opposite side of the counter.

Pizza is always fresh during lunch/dinner time. A slice ($3.25) is served on a plate with wax paper, which is a nice touch.

The pizza is crispy and is not floppy. I usually do not wait for the pizza to get warm, I have it hot (Warning: Roof of your mouth will get burned). First bite, there is this distinct taste, can’t pinpoint the taste, just that it is delicious.

The cheese turns to liquid gold if you fold the slice and have the cheese and sauce gather. I love it. I usually get the fruit punch drink (Childhood combo).
I will say, driving into Flushing especially in the Main St./7 Train area, it’s not ideal because it is super busy. There are street and meter parking lot(s) nearby and you should not have an issue finding parking.
The pizza taste like no other and I would highly recommend trying Lucia Pizza .
