Amore Pizza in Flushing, NY, is one of the best pizza slices I have ever had. I don’t remember who told me about this place, but it came up when I mentioned that Lucia’s Pizza is my favorite pizza joint in Flushing, and someone told me Amore Pizza is actually the best in the neighborhood. That statement made me want to try it out for myself.

Amore Pizza - Storefront

Amore Pizza is located in a busy strip shopping area, kind of like a strip mall with a big parking lot surrounded by stores. There is a Stop & Shop nearby, so the parking lot is always a little crazy, but the customer turnover is fast.

Amore Pizza - Menu and vibes

Once you walk in, the place has an old-school vibe with a nostalgic pizza smell. The counter where you order is to the right, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. After you place your order, you pay at the register. If you go during lunch, pies are constantly being made fresh, so you either get a fresh slice right away or wait just a moment for the next pie to come out.

After you get your pizza, you can grab one of the open tables in front of the counter or in the back. It gets busy, but people clear out right after they eat, so you rarely have to wait long for a seat.

Amore Pizza - Plain slice

The pizza is served on a paper plate with wax paper on top. It has that signature orange cheese—absolute liquid gold. It looks incredible, and from the very first bite, you notice it just tastes different. It is very similar to Lucia’s Pizza; not exact, but close, and the taste is amazing.

Amore Pizza - Selfie with slice

The cheese is almost blended right in with the sauce. You notice it more after a few bites when the cheese slides down your slice and hits the wax paper. I usually pick up the fallen cheese with the crust—delicious. It is on the oily side, so if you aren’t a fan of that, just dab it with a napkin.

Amore Pizza - first bite

Each slice is $4 as of August 2026. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it, and the local community clearly agrees since the place is always packed.

Amore Pizza - liquid gold

I do want to mention that King’s Chef is located on the other side of this same strip mall, and they serve some of the best Chinese chicken wings around. I usually stop by to get an order, and I highly recommend them, especially if you are visiting from out of town.

Make sure you stop by Amore Pizza if you love a great slice and find yourself in the Flushing area. You’re welcome in advance!
