I randomly stumbled upon YiaYia’s Greek Kitchen in Montague, NJ, while looking for gyros in my area. I was shocked to find a place that serves gyros, let alone a dedicated Greek establishment. I bookmarked it immediately and was finally able to stop by with my family.

I do want to mention that the place is only open from Thursday to Sunday, from 11 am to 8 pm. On Sundays, they close at 7 pm.

The place is located right off US-206, and you can easily spot the sign from the road. Once we parked, we went inside, were greeted by a staff member, and were able to pick any open table.

The place isn’t fancy, but it has a cozy feel to it. I ended up getting the Gyro Sandwich Platter, which comes with fresh-cut Greek fries and a Greek salad. When the food arrived, the portion size was huge. The gyro was solid, and the tzatziki sauce tasted completely authentic. The Greek fries were crispy and good, and the Greek salad was a great way to balance out the meal.

My brother and mother got the Gyro Platter and the Chicken Platter, respectively. I tried the chicken, and it was solid. If you want value, definitely get the Gyro or Chicken Platter—they give you a really good amount of protein.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the gyro and would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area and in the mood for Greek food. I will definitely be back to try out the Souvlaki Platter.
