I found Angelo’s Greek Taverna one day on Yelp and Google while I was in the mood for gyros. The ratings were really high, and the pictures of the gyros—especially how homemade the tzatziki sauce looked—really caught my eye. I immediately bookmarked this spot as a place I had to try.

I was finally able to check out Angelo’s during lunch with my friend, and I was really looking forward to it. The place has a lot of natural light on the inside.

They serve complimentary pita with a hummus-like dip. The pita was warm, and the dip was a great combo.

We started off with the Fried Calamari ($15.95). It was really crispy and had a good chew to it; I could tell it was fresh calamari. It was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed.

For my main course, I got the Gyro Lunch Special ($15.95), which comes with fries and a can of soda. The gyro had a generous amount of protein—more than I expected.

The tzatziki sauce that came with the gyro definitely seemed to be homemade. It was so good, and the whole meal was huge; I could barely finish it. I actually didn’t finish all the fries, even though they were good, because I had trouble finishing the gyro. It was good trouble, though—I’m not complaining!

My friend got the Chicken Gyro Lunch Special ($15.95) with rice. I tried the chicken, and it was tender and nicely cooked.

I found my go-to gyro spot! It’s not that close to me, but at least I know where to go when I want good gyros. I highly recommend Angelo’s Greek Taverna if you’re in the mood for tasty gyros at a fair price.
