One Star Two Star Three Star Four Star

Finding a dedicated, authentic Greek spot out in Montague, New Jersey, was a total surprise, but stumbling upon YiaYia’s Greek Kitchen completely paid off. In this video, I take you along to check out this hidden gem right off US-206 to see if it lives up to the hype.

Right off the bat, the portion sizes here are no joke. I ordered the Gyro Sandwich Platter, which comes loaded with fresh-cut Greek fries and a crisp Greek salad to help balance out the meal. The gyro meat itself was solid, but the real star of the show was the tzatziki sauce—it tasted completely authentic and packed the kind of flavor you look for in a great Greek meal. I also snuck a taste of the chicken from my mom’s platter, and it was equally impressive, offering incredible value if you are looking for a hearty, protein-packed plate.

The atmosphere isn’t fancy, but it has a welcoming, cozy feel, and the staff makes you feel right at home the moment you walk through the door. Before you plan your trip, just keep in mind that YiaYia’s is only open from Thursday to Sunday (closing a little early at 7 pm on Sundays), so you will want to time your visit accordingly.

If you are ever passing through the area and craving some solid Mediterranean comfort food, this place is definitely worth a stop. Watch the full video above to see the massive platters up close, and head over to read my full written review for all the details. I will definitely be back to try out the Souvlaki Platter next time!
