Yoyo’s Hot Dog serves one of the best hot dogs in Texas—a fact brought to my attention by the friend I travel with on our annual domestic trips. After checking out the photos and reviews on Google and Yelp, I knew we had to add it to our Houston “must-eat” list.

There are several locations, but we chose the one at Post HTX. Since it was already a destination on our sightseeing itinerary, it was the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone.

Once we arrived at the market and did a little exploring, we went straight to business and ordered the YOYO Beef. This signature dog comes loaded with an all-beef frank, caramelized onions, fried onions, honey mayo, “Yoyo” hot sauce, and cream cheese.

When it arrived, it looked incredible—the sheer volume of ingredients had my mouth watering instantly. I noticed they split the hot dog down the middle lengthwise, which is a great touch because it allows the toppings to be distributed evenly across the entire bun.

With my first bite, I realized there was so much going on in the best way possible: the sweetness from the honey mayo, the saltiness of the beef, the crispy texture of the fried onions, and the softness of the bun. Every element combined into a delicious symphony of flavors and textures.

I could have easily polished off a second one, but I knew I had a long day of eating ahead of me. There is a reason why this place is a Houston staple, and I highly recommend that anyone who loves food—especially hot dog fans—make a stop here.
