I found out about Trinciti Roti Shop from my friend and he raved about how their ‘Bake & Shark’ sandwich was bomb and my friend is a big foodie, loves all types of food from different background, so I knew I had to add this to my list of places to try out. And when he mentioned he was heading into New York to get that sandwich, before he even asked if I was down, I already said, “let’s go”!

We got there in the afternoon and once we parked, there was already a line outside the door. When you finally get inside the store, the line actually loops around inside. I would say it took more than 30 minutes but less than an hour to get the food.

My friend suggested we try out the Double, which is a fluffy pita filled seasoned cooked chickpeas. It was very filling, I would say one is enough as a meal by itself. And trust me, it tastes a lot better than it looks, very tasty and flavorful. And it was a good deal!

Also got the main which was the Bake & Shark. My friend told me it might not be real shark, the fish meat was white and it did not smell fishy at all. The inside looks amazing, very colorful, it had the thick piece of white ‘shark’ fish, diced cabbage with dressing, tomato, pineapple, and lettuce. The bread itself was very soft and fluffy, it was kinda like the double. All the ingredients made each bite so refreshing and tasty. It was very heavy and filling too.

I had to down all this food with an ice cold bottle Real Coconut Water. I was having Caribbean food so I had to go all in with the meal.

I highly recommend trying this spot out if you want to try something unique with a Caribbean twist. I will be back or sure.
