I visited a few asado spots during my time in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but my favorite by far was La Estancia Asador Criollo. A family friend recommended we meet there to catch up over a delicious meal, and it turned out to be the perfect choice.

We arrived in the afternoon; the restaurant is nestled along a busy walkway lined with shops and buildings. I believe this area is essentially the “Times Square” of Buenos Aires, and the atmosphere was vibrant and buzzing with people.

Once we entered, the space felt bright and classy, and you can see the meats being cooked over the open fire the moment you walk in.

Our friend ordered us a mixed meat platter featuring various cuts. When it arrived at the table, it was still sizzling. I really enjoyed all the beef and pork, though I did struggle with the blood sausage—it’s just not for me. Whether it’s the name or the look, I could never quite get into it, though the rest of my family absolutely loved it.
It might have been the company—catching up with family and friends over such a great meal—but this place truly stood out. From the service and the atmosphere to the food and drinks, everything was top-tier. Being able to watch the meats being prepared right there told me everything was fresh. While I tried several other great asado spots during my visit, my experience at La Estancia Asador Criollo made it my clear favorite.

If you’re trying to decide which asado spot to visit in Buenos Aires, I highly recommend stopping by La Estancia Asador Criollo.
