I stumbled upon Griddle This while searching for new breakfast sandwich spots in the area. Lately, the sandwiches I’ve been finding elsewhere have been just “okay.” I usually find myself forced to order a sausage, egg, and cheese because when I go with bacon, the bread-and-egg ratio completely overwhelms the meat.

Griddle This caught my eye because of their high ratings and their “Breakfast Sandwich Specials.” On my first visit, I tried the Bobo (bacon, double egg, cheese, and a hash brown patty on a roll). It was solid, but again, the bacon felt a little light compared to the roll. I knew then that the next time I came back, I had to go for the Big Boy.

The shop has a classic diner-meets-cafe vibe. When you walk in, the register is on the left and seating is on the right. Way in the back, there’s a counter where you can eat while watching the food being prepped right on the griddle.

I ordered the Big Boy—which is packed with Taylor ham, bacon, sausage, double egg, cheese, and a hash brown patty—and grabbed an open table. You can tell this place has a lot of regulars, and the staff is incredibly attentive to everyone coming in.

When my order arrived in a brown bag, I could tell immediately by the weight that this was going to be serious. The sandwich was absolutely loaded. From the first bite, I could taste every single meat—it was so packed that ingredients were actually spilling out the other side! The hash brown patty added a perfect crunchy texture, and the meat-to-bread ratio was exactly what I was looking for: heavy on the protein.

The Big Boy was delicious and it was only $8.49! My only minor critique (and this is just personal preference) is that I would have loved even more bacon. That said, the bacon they did use was crispy and flavorful. Next time, I might just ask for extra bacon and a little less Taylor ham.

The general consensus from the reviews I’ve read is that everything here is good, with fair prices and great portion sizes. Those are exactly the ingredients I look for in a go-to spot. If you’re a fan of breakfast sandwiches and want to try the “ultimate” version, you have to stop by Griddle This and get the Big Boy. I’ll definitely be back!
